SEAKEEPER SYSTEM
The Seakeeper system is based on a very simple concept: the gyroscope’s one.
Inside a vacuum encapsulated sphere, a flywheel spins up to 9,700 rpm. When the boat rolls, the gyroscope tilts forward and backward (precession), producing a powerful gyroscopic torque from starboard to port that counteracts the boat roll.
It requires very low electrical energy, has no external appendages and can be installed anywhere on the boat. Its automatic control and cutting-edge technology make it the first truly practical and modern gyroscope in the world.
The device is turned on and controlled from a touch screen panel mounted on the dashboard, no complications for the owner who can completely change the way he experiences the sea by simply touching the display.
1INNOVATIVE COOLING SYSTEM
The patented cooling system allows the flywheel to spin at high speeds inside the vacuum enclosure.
2Vacuum encapsulation
Seakeeper’s vacuum encapsulation allows the flywheel to spin approximately three times faster, reduces its weight by two-thirds and cuts power requirements in half. Furthermore, since the fundamental components (flywheel, bearings and engine) are vacuum sealed, they remain constantly isolated from the marine environment.
3Active control
Seakeeper’s active control optimizes gyroscopic torque, providing unrivaled performance. Unlike the passively controlled gyroscope, which must be turned off in the harshest conditions and/or at high speeds, the Seakeeper is effective at all speeds and can be used in all sea conditions.
